Language Development
Language Development
Language development is central to all aspects of children’s learning and is fundamental to how they understand, communicate and make sense of the world. Children use language to express their feelings, share ideas, ask questions, build relationships and develop their thinking. The ability to understand and use language supports social interaction and enables children to play, collaborate and learn alongside others.
At Holy Cross, we provide a rich language environment that supports both verbal and non?verbal communication. We embrace the use of Makaton and visual supports to enhance understanding, promote inclusion and help children access routines, expectations and all areas of the curriculum. These approaches ensure that every child is equipped with the tools they need to communicate confidently and participate fully in nursery life.
